WHAT'S INVOLVED
Developing a website is a process and we work closely with you through all stages of development. This is it in a nutshell:
CLARIFY:
- We begin by discussing with you what your objective is for your website and who your target market is (your audience/customers).
- Your budget and timeline for publishing the website.
DESIGN / CONTENT:
- Website architecture (web pages and the navigation links between them) is discussed and planned in order to ensure that the site will be easy for users to navigate and that content will flow well from page to page.
- Based on your preferences, and marketing materials you may already have, we design a visual look and feel of your web pages to express your company's unique identity.
- The desire for applications, such as a blog, user forms, image galleries, calendar, e-newsletter, is determined.
- Text and image content are created. We offer text editing, particularly for enhancement of search engine optimization. AMCK is very happy to supply Images and we offer expert manipulation/editing as needed. If you don't already have a logo, AMCK can design one for you, based on your budget.
PUBLISHING YOUR WEBSITE:
- We register your domain and set up the hosting package in your name.
- While your website is undergoing construction, a 'coming soon' home page can be published so that your home page url is propagating on search engines while your site is being built. This will also enable you to go ahead with having new business cards, etc printed with your website and new email address.
- During construction phase of your website, web pages are 'live' and viewable by you alone for your review and comment.
- Once the website is complete, AMCK guides you through how to use the content editing application that enables you to make text edits to web pages.
- We walk you through how to set up your new email address(es) with the email application on your computer (Outlook Express, for example).
YOU CAN EXPECT
- Completely table-less coding to produce standards-based HTML and CSS code; all pages are validated according to standards established by the W3C and are reviewed on a variety of web browsers prior to publishing.
- An easy-to-use wysiwyg editing application that allows you to update your web pages (WYSIWYG="what you see is what you get" refers to text editors that are simple to use).
- Search Engine Optimization: read these sections for details on what we do to optimize your site to help your web pages rank higher with search engines.
- Access to your website traffic statistics, via the hosting provider we use, which gives you valuable information on who visits your website and how they find it.
- We are happy to add Google Analytics to all of your web pages at no charge to give you even more complete traffic stats—this is a great tool.
- We mail you a CD that contains the complete files for your website at the time of first publishing.
- All services are payable by check or credit card.
